A SUMMER AND STUDY IN SWITZERLAND
I had the incredible opportunity to attend the international summer workshop hosted by the Basel School of Design in Basel, Switzerland. The summer intensive lasted 30 days, with daytime classes and evening and weekend excursions throughout France, Switzerland, and Germany. In this time I mingled with design innovators, studied basics with students from around the world in a city where many of these methods were born, and learned how to enjoy travel and education completely on my own.
This singular experience changed my entire perspective ...

THE RIDE UP THE MOUNTAIN
We rode a tram up one of the mountains and hiked to a remote location in the Alps to see how cheese is made. The farmhouse owner was the sister of one of my professors, and she lived there for the summer only - 100 days exactly. The farmhouse owner demonstrated the process and at the end we all ate samples with some of the famously dry meat from the region. As we finished hiking we descended to Lake Thun for drinks, which is a beautiful, cerulean-blue colored natural lake at the bottom of the Alps.
